| Description of Organization & Responsibilities | HDP students have played an integral role at Reality Changers for several years. We value your contributions and the immediate impact that you have on our program. Reality Changers prepares inner-city teenagers to become first generation college students. Many of our students have raised their GPAs from a 0.0 to a 3.5 and our program graduates have attended Harvard, Dartmouth, Northwestern, UCLA, and of course, UCSD (among dozens of other top-notch universities). HDP students select one night per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays) to participate at one of our locations. Each program follows the same format: SAT Prep, family-style dinner, guest speaker, "Congress," and study time. HDP students actively participate in all aspects of the evening as mentors, coaches & tutors. Reality Changers has an intricate partnership with UCSD's Academic Connections Summer Residential Program, as well. Reality Changers students who obtain a 3.5 GPA spend three weeks each summer on UCSD's campus taking college classes for college credit. HDP students will have a direct impact on whether many of the Reality Changers students can qualify for this life-changing college program. We hope to have you join us. |

| Description of Organization & Responsibilities | Now in its 46th year, Young Audiences of San Diego has provided art education programs for San Diego schools. YA programs include the visual and the performing arts and range from school assemblies to in-school and after-school teaching residencies. HDP 191 students will first meet with the YA Education Director to learn about the organization and its current evaluation needs. Students spend the majority of their time observing art classes, planning, and implementing evaluations to help strengthen the quality of Young Audience's Programs. |
